Manganal Tuffwear 400 is a superior abrasion resisting plate that combines a through hardened 375 minimum Brinell with a low carbon equivalent to promote superior weldability, formability, flatness and surface quality. Industries requiring more latitude in design and fabrication prefer Manganal Tuffwear 400 for uses like Dump Bodies, Bucket Components, Construction Applications, Logging and Mining Equipment.

Manganal Tuffwear 400 is produced in a world class electric steel making facility which allows for very stringent and consistent control of the chemical composition. Manganal Tuffwear 400 is ladle desulfurized and calcium treated with inclusion shape control to a .005% maximum sulfur.

Manganal Tuffwear 400 combines the benefits of low sulfur, low carbon equivalent chemistry to improve both welding and forming characteristics beyond traditional abrasion resisting steels.

Manganal Tuffwear 500 combines the benefits of low sulfur, low carbon equivalent chemistry to improve both welding and forming characteristics beyond traditional abrasion resisting steels.

Manganal Tuffwear 500 is a superior higher abrasion resisting plate that combines very low sulfur, good toughness and through hardened properties to promote improved formability and weldability, while maintaining superior flatness and surface quality.
